Four Baden-Württemberg universities of excellence will receive funding
The Excellence Commission decided on 19 July 2019, which universities of excellence will receive annual funding of 148 million euros per year from 1 November 2019. Among the selected eleven universities, four are from Baden-Württemberg, which puts the German Southwest at the top of the list in Germany again.
The universities of excellence will receive long-term funding. Every seven years, an evaluation is carried out to check whether the prerequisites for funding continue to exist.
The successful state universities are:
University of Heidelberg
Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT)
University of Konstanz
University of Tübingen
